Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schulz

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schulz is a professor at the faculty of law at the University Hamburg for media law, public law and legal theory. Wolfgang is also member of the directorate of the Hans-Bredow Institute in Hamburg and a director of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society in Berlin, where he is responsible for the research topic ‘Internet and Media Regulation’. He works on legal instruments of the state, in particular, with regards to new forms of regulation (like co-regulation), internet governance and human rights. Wolfgang Schulz also serves as a chairperson on the Committee of Experts on Internet Intermediaries (MSI-NET) of the European Council and holds the UNESCO Chair on “Freedom of Communication and Information”. Furthermore, he is a member of the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Media Law.
